After such chaos, maintaining a life free of complications is a priority for her.

With another devastating loss looming, Jo fights to hold on to the very thing that brought her to her knees. She finds herself torn between a promising future and clinging to a devastating past.

But that’s not the most worrisome problem on her hands.

She must convince more than just herself to let the past stay in the past, where it belongs, but on her journey to find closure and resolution, she does the exact opposite. An old wound caused by a heinous act becomes exposed for what it is. The truth is catastrophic and Jo is helpless, watching as the ruins of her fragile world endure more turmoil.

This book made me question a lot of things…

Can love really fix what life has broken? I mean, is love enough to cover all the things that have been wrongly done? That after the suppression that hides the truth, is love enough to fix things that have been damaged over a period of time?

I cannot tell you how much I love this book! And I think I just found my new favorite author!

J.L. Mac has mastered the art of breaking hearts. Once again, she has toyed with my emotions, made me cry buckets of tears and left me yelling WTF!!! Not again!!!

 photo tumblr_m0swipwlsw1r3ytt5_zpsa4e662f4.gif

The story picked up exactly where we left off the first book. The first part showed the painful past of Damon. How he had endured the abusive life as a child and how he has suffered for a long time. This made me understand his character and made me love him even more.

Thank God Jo had finally man up (lol) and tried every possible ways to get him back. The first book made me hate her soo much, I just wanna throw my ipad and scream… F*** you Jo! But she has redeemed herself here and Im glad she took the right path this time. Only she has to earn it the hard way.

 photo tumblr_mhhcfqmDw81rlmivxo1_500_large_zps0cd69654.gif

I loved how J.L. has taken us through their hard times, heartaches, the roller coaster ride of their relationship to see if they can repair the trust and love that was broken.

Storyline is perfect. Dialogues are real. Characters are developed. Everything I hoped it to be. There were scenes when I thought I had everything figured out, but then again the story takes you on unexpected twist and turn, cuts you up, deep and wounded, and then brings back the pieces together in the end.

I got really affected by this series! I felt the joy and pain in every character. I loved how Jo and Damon's relationship was not perfect but they have worked so damn hard to fight for it. And not to mention the super hot, sexy scenes, making me almost start to leak into my favorite panties. But don't be fooled! There's another cliff hanger here but not as bad as the first one so you better guard your heart against emotional damage once again.

Do I love it? Yes! Do I recommend it? Oh yes, yes yes!

The story stays true to its plot and without a doubt,  J.L. Mac has nailed it again! She has "wrecked" me once, but she has completely "restored" me and I can't wait to read the next one.

5 SUPER STARS!

1. Can you tell us something we don’t know about J.L. Mac?

I love to garden but can kill a rose bush quicker than anyone or anything. It’s an unforgiving curse to a person like myself who loves rose gardens. *sigh*

2. When did you first realize that you wanted to become a writer?

I was six years old. I’ve been writing ever since.

3. Why do you feel you had to tell this story? Is there something in this book that is based on real life experience?

Not really. I just thought “hey that’s one hell of a story” and got to work on it.

4. What was your inspiration in creating the characters? Was it hard to do a love story about 2 damaged souls? Describe Damon and Jo’s relationship in 3 words.

“Worst case scenario” was my inspiration. This awful scenario hit me while driving one day and I just knew it would be worth telling. It’s in our nature to be curious about tragedy. It’s human nature to be enamored with it. It’s a fascinating trait. We see a disaster happening and we stop and stare. Look at the news. That’s all the proof a person needs. Telling the story was pretty easy because I think we are all pretty screwed up in our own ways. Imperfection is the norm. Jo and Damon’s relationship in 3 words- unique-tragic-moving.

5. Do you write to music? Any songs that inspired their love story?

I always write to music. I have a Wreck Me/Restore Me playlist.

6. Among all the books that you have read, which of these have significantly contributed to your writing style?

Hmm. That’s tough. I’m not really sure. I don’t read much of what’s out there now. I stick to the classics. But I will say that I think I have a deep appreciation for the current authors who are not afraid of telling a story that makes the reader uncomfortable. An author who can wield words in such a way that makes the reader, smile, scream, cringe, or slump in defeat is a writer with passion and a skill. That author’s stories will never be enough because readers have an insatiable appetite for good books. It’s all I aspire to.

7. Name 3 authors you would love to collaborate with.

Great question. I’m not really sure. Didn’t Chuck Norris write an autobiography or something? Maybe one day I can convince him to collaborate with me on some book titled Love and Nun Chucks ;)

8. Excluding your own, name 3 books you would recommend to your friends.

Dark Duet CJ Roberts, The Catcher In The Rye by JD Salinger (all time favorite book), and the Fade series by Kate Dawes. (just grabbed my Kindle and paged through it)
9. If you could date any fictional character, who would it be and why?

Well, I’m biased but Damon from my Wrecked series is just… *sigh*

10. What could “wreck” J.L. Mac in real life? And what could “restore” her afterwards?

My husband is active duty in the Army and if anything ever happened to him I’d be wrecked. Thoroughly and truly wrecked. I don’t think anything could ever restore me completely but that’s the point in the series. We try to restore ourselves. We work towards being better but we are never really done with being better. It’s a work in progress for everyone. The point is, as long as you are trying, that’s all that can be asked of a person.

Let’s do our fast talk:

1. Coffee or tea?
Tea
2. Lights on / lights off?
off
3. Boxers or briefs? (For your guy)
boxers
4. Favorite male body part?
arms
5. Do you believe in love at first sight?
I believe in fate.
6. 3 things you never leave home without? (apart from keys, phone and money)
Chapstick. Perfume/body spray. Sunglasses.
7. Sleep in or get up early? Get up. I am not a morning person by any means but the day just doesn’t have enough hours in it to be sleeping in.
8. Ever slapped a guy? Yes. Yes I have. Hard. Full on, open handed, pimp style, Hollywood worthy, slap. I shocked myself when I did it. I think he saw it coming so he just stood there looking at me.
9. 3 celebrity crushes?
Gerard Butler, Ryan Gosling, Chris Hemsworth.
10. Sex on the first date?
Depends I guess. There is a difference between dating someone new and hooking up. Dating a new guy you’re interested in? No. Don’t be easy. But if it’s a hookup/one night stand? Have at it if it’s what you want to do.

Any advice to give to aspiring writers?
Be unique. Be committed. Be invested in yourself and others will too.

Any message to your followers?
I love and adore you all more than you know. I love hearing from my readers. It’s the highlight of my day. Thank you for loving my characters as much as I do.

A New Adult Romance from New York Times & USA Today Bestselling Author Kendall Ryan.

Straight-laced Emmy Clarke’s assistant job at the modeling agency provides her with one distinct perk – getting to watch pretty mancandy parade around all day. But having to work under the ultra-bitchy, ultra-British Fiona Stone barely makes it worth it. Emmy enjoys looking, but she’s not stupid enough to fall for one of the tempting specimens. Especially not rising star Ben Shaw.

Ben is everything Emmy’s not: well-traveled, highly paid and exquisitely gorgeous. He’s also got more issues than Vogue. Against her better judgment to get involved, Emmy’s southern roots kick in, and whenever he’s on set, she makes sure he’s treated well and looked after. But she refuses to become one of the pathetic groupies lusting after him, and soon Ben’s drawn toward her refreshingly real attitude.

Against the backdrop of fashion shows in NYC, Paris and Milan, their casual flirting turns into more, and they embark on a journey of sexual discovery. But when Ben’s twisted past is uncovered, it threatens both their relationship and careers as the bitter Fiona digs her claws in, unwilling to let her golden boy go without a catfight.

Filled with passion, jealousy and heart-thumping sex, Working It is the tale of falling for a supermodel.

Sometimes, even the best-laid plans can unravel.

It's spring break, and Tamara Winters would rather stay on campus and read romance novels than flaunt her size-fourteen body on a beach. But her best friend, Ronni, has other ideas. Against her wishes, Tamara is whisked away to picturesque Maverick Bay, where she's wrangled into waiting tables with Ronni at the Shore Shack for its busy week leading to Maverick's Surf Invitational. There she meets fellow schoolmate Xavier Solomon, the Invitational's organizer and campus womanizer by reputation. From the moment Tamara sees him emerging from the waves like a hero in of one of her romance novels, all she wants to do is run away from the feelings he inspires in her.

Little does she know Xavier has been watching her for weeks now. In fact, after failed attempts at asking her out on campus, he's concocted a crazy plan: fabricating romantic situations straight out of her favorite books. Xavier quickly realizes that if Tamara gets a whiff of his designs, he might as well spell CREEPER across his forehead. Yet as they grow closer, he's convinced it's a risk worth taking. What he hasn't planned on, of course, is his drug-addicted, alcoholic stepbrother, who decides to join the fun and put a wrench in Xavier’s scheme.

Spring break is proving hotter than Tamara expected. Will her romance novels be able to compete?

Sweat beaded on Devon’s temple, and she wiped it off her forehead and out of her eyes. The party had been going all night, and it was nice to loosen up and get lost in the music and dancing. She hadn’t partied in so long, and she couldn’t resist when Amy had actually invited her out. Either she was getting over her hatred for the new girl, or Devon had just been there long enough that she wasn’t considered the new girl any longer.

People were packed into the club shoulder to shoulder, many even closer than that. The music was ear-splittingly loud. Crazy lights traversed the warehouse-sized room, and they alternated to strobes slowing everything down to slow motion. She hadn’t had much to drink, but she was dizzy with dehydration and the energy in the room. Her tank top was sticking to her back, and she had long since pulled her hair up off of her neck into a ponytail.

God, I need another drink, she thought.

Her eyes moved around the room taking in as much as she could from her vantage point. It really only ended up being the two feet encircling her. Amy had to be somewhere inside the building. How had she lost track of her?

Well, she knew how. There were too many damn people in the place. It was easy to lose track of one person, especially when that person was as short as Amy. Still, she should have done better. She didn’t like being alone in dark places. Whether she was surrounded by people or in a back alleyway at night, she was still alone.

She craned her head to look for her, but was having no luck. It felt like more and more people were being crushed into the space. How was this in line with fire code? Surely the place would be shut down soon.

Walking in the direction of the bar, Devon tried to find Amy in the crowd. Seriously it was getting harder and harder to maneuver through. She was literally having to elbow people out of the way. This wasn’t okay, and it wasn’t fun. They shouldn’t let any more people in. Things could get out of control.

Devon looked up over the heads of people in front of her and sighed. It felt like she was never going to reach the bar, and there was a huge line anyway. She thought maybe the bathroom would be a better alternative…at least there she would have some privacy.

She turned to walk the other direction and slammed right into a meaty guy in front of her, who glared at her as she lost her balance and tumbled to the floor. Someone stepped on her hand as she tried to get up. Devon swore and hissed pulling her hand away from the ground where someone else could do the same thing. She stood as best she could, cradling her aching hand. It wasn’t easy pushing through people with one hand pressed between her breasts to keep from someone else smashing into it. All it did was cause people to unknowingly smash into other parts of her. She hadn’t made it more than a few feet toward the bathroom, and she had already been elbowed in the arm, gotten her foot stepped on, and been drunkenly body slammed knocking the breath out of her. The club was getting dangerous.

A space opened in the crowd, and she took advantage, rushing forward through the throng of people. It took her closer to the bathroom but not close enough. Then she felt it. Eyes on the back of her head. She didn’t even know how it was possible. There were hundreds of people in the place. No one could be focusing that intently on her, but she could swear that someone was watching her.
“I knew you were running the first time I saw you…"

Devon didn’t have a game plan when she decided to leave St. Louis on a Chicago-bound train for the summer. Just a reason. One she couldn’t share with anyone.

Not Hadley, her best friend from college, who lets her stay in the guest bedroom; no questions asked. Or Brennan, the bartender at the local restaurant they frequent, who she actively tries to avoid. Or Garrett, Hadley’s boyfriend, who befriends her when she has no one else to turn to.

"I just didn’t know what you were running from...."

Desperate to hide at all costs, Devon plunges into her new life in the city. Everyone around her starts to reveal sides of themselves Devon never expected. And just when she starts to get comfortable, her world flips upside down…

"...but I think all along you were running toward me."

4 lives.
All connected.
All with secrets that just keep following them.
